It never says “done” over a missing file

After every transfer, PIGEON re-hashes what actually arrived and compares it with the source. A short write, a full disk, or a dropped share becomes a clear failure, not a quiet success. The receipt lists every file and its SHA-256, so you can hand it to whoever needs proof.

Air-gap updates without a second copy

For disconnected systems, PIGEON keeps a small record of what the far side already holds, then packs only the new and changed files into a signed batch you can carry across. Unchanged files never travel. The far side checks the signature and its own starting state before writing anything, and verifies the whole result afterward.

The same workflow runs on Windows and Linux, in either direction.

A readiness check tests the source, the destination, free space, long-path support, the license, and the clock before a single byte moves, and reports every problem at once. When something does fail, the message says what happened, whether the destination is usable, and what to do next, with a stable error code you can read over the phone.

Accountability your ISSM can check

Every run is written to a hash-chained audit log that shows if a record was edited, removed, or reordered. Packages can be sealed and signed, so a technician can confirm the copy in front of them is exactly what was issued, even after a USB stick and an antivirus scan.

PIGEON is a single portable folder with a graphical app and a command-line tool. No installer, no internet connection, and no telemetry. Deep folder trees beyond the Windows 260-character limit are handled natively.
